i wanted to get a closer look at the RX8. while looking over the sticker a salesman came out and asked if i wanted to take a test drive. since i just bought my Z, i told him i had no intentions of buying anything on the lot. without hesitation he said "let's take it out anyway". we went for a good 20min drive and both of us drove the piss outa the little rotary. it might look like shit, but the performance is pretty good (my opinon). it reminds me of a go-cart, not a whole lot of torque, but kinda zippy. the weight ratio is great, very close to 50/50. very rev-happy, when i got to 8500rpm a little warning sound goes off, that was interesting. it does have a traction control system that prevents the car from getting crazy. i tried to break the car loose coming down a curvy on-ramp, the car corrected itself with brakes and less throttle. apparently you can turn it on or off which is nice. overall, i would consider it a fun little car to putt around town in. the extra seats in back actually sit relatively comfortably once you get in them. might make a good second car, but don't trade your Z in on one. performance-wise, the Z is much better. although i do like the 18in rims and tires. hard as i tried i couldn't break them. good brakes too, huge discs for a little car.
